WOW, as soon as it arrived I tested a bag of garden soil that I knew was slightly acidic to get an idea of where the meter was reading. Then... No matter ho w much acid fertilizer I put on my gardenia, this meter always registers an alkaline soil. It does measure wetness and light but I can figure that out without a meter. The unit has been great, quick and easy. Accuracy was spot on. During the challenging weather we opted to start growing early thinking winter was over--we were WRONG... Broken essentially after barely a week. Not sure what happened it just doesn't read Ph or moisture anymore. grat product Now I don't have to kill my plants in order to know when to water them.
