- Definitely run small. I purchased the medium for my daughter since there were several comments about the small being child size and not "small teenager size". Got the black and red to go with black and red basketball uniforms two 11 year olds boys AAU. They play harder with them Bought these for my 12 year old daughter who plays club basketball. After only 1 month the fabric had small snags and eventual tore open then the padding started falling out. I used to buy Mcdavid knee pad for my son. He is an active basketball player, so I need buy new pair every couple of months. I bought these pads for my 8yr who plays travel basketball, at first use....the pads held up but as soon as my son took them off all the honeycomb padding starting moving around. Not comfortable to wear only wore twice As expected. Great! Have ordered these as well as the more expensive Mcdavid several times for my basketball playing kids. My kids like these just as well and they seem to hold up about the same. Great for wrestling. Soon loves them and protects his knees. I'm giving a three because they were too small for my daughter to wear.
