I didn't know I needed this til this Easter when daughter and husband argued over the doneness of the turkey (not a ham loving family). Have only used once so far and found that it takes forever to get to the internal temperature reading. Does not show the right temperature: too low. I bought another thermometer from another company, same design, and it worked. But it's just chance. Ordered this by accident (forgot to take it out of my basket). Oh, well. Seems like a nice design. However, I have doubts about its accuracy. Works fine but it is awkward to turn on and off. Good value, on time, easy to use and most important accurate! . What impressed me the most was the quick calibration time to estimate... works great, ! it was a gift so I didn't use it Worked well throughout most of its life.
