The filter gets covered in hardened minerals but I just rinse it off and keep using it. The reservoir easily fills and doesn't leak. After 7 months of normal use, I found a leak on the water tank, so I can no longer put water in. I contacted Kaz Customer Relations, but it claimed that the water tank leak... this machine is exactly what i needed. easy to fill the water tank; no louder than a fan and wonderful humidity! very happy with purchase. Great for a small room. We are completely satisfied with the Honeywell HCM350 as it is extremely easy to refill, to carry, and to keep clean. It does seem to leak a bit and I'm not sure it's as effective as my previous humidifier but overall it ok and easy to fill. I am only giving this two stars because it doesn't shut off when the water runs out like the crane humidifier we have. Works as advertised, nice and quiet and very efficient. Nice humidifier, but the fan part gets full of dust and does not come apart for cleaning. Not good for one who is allergic to dust,
