(Why do we have a minimum word count on reviews) The sharpener works great on both my colored pencils and regular pencils, but the automatic cut off when it thinks it is sharp is annoying. I use this sharpener for my classroom and it works quickly an efficiently. Even crappy dollar store pencils sharpen so nicely with this sharpener! When they mention rounded point in description, they mean it. It is nowhere near as sharp as I'd like after sharpening, and I have to constantly resharpen after 5 minutes of... I love how it stops when the pencil is done sharpening. No more guessing and over sharpening til the tip falls off! Sharpener started making a strange sound. The lid now lifts and lowers as sharpening... sharpening more on one side now.... pencils become useless
