The best part about this knife is the way it 'peels' off layers of hard butter to make it easier to spread right... This is a good butter knife, nice and heavy and will work great with cold or soft butters and cream cheeses. Hard butter I use the side with the holes and soft the other side. Not new!!!!! Clearly been opened and returned before. Should have been sold as used. We live in the Colorado mountains. Even in summer it's never that warm and butter stays hard. This knife makes it easy to spread hard butter. It sorta works, but the little holes get clogged up. Your butter has to be really hard and even then, it was just ok. Probably wouldn't recommend it. Great for cold sticks butter. Keep a full stick of butter to use with this knife to wear down from the top. pretty impressive after sales service, the one I bought got some problems but Orblue send me a new one right after I contact them. Love it. Works great! Love this butter dish! I leave butter on the counter and this is perfect. I love the measurement marks too! Love it! Great weight, length and multiple uses!! And for the price, it's sensational!
