It tells the temp of the oven I put it in. Dangles like it should. Very accurate, my only problem is that it will not hang on my rack, it's too narrow on the hangar. Small and good quality. My only issue is the flat metal portion used for standing up. Really small and hard to get it to stay up and not slip through oven racks. Bought this to replace a very old thermometer. Needed a new one as either the oven is off or the old thermometer was off. Seems like it's this new thermometer is working well. This helped us correct our oven in a new rental and now we just keep it in there all the time to make sure the temperature stays even. It works... Works properly, has not cracked and to my best knowledge is giving the right temperature! Ordered 2 to check of temps in different areas of my pellet grill. Both Temp readings equal to each other when placed in same area of grill and within 3-5 degrees of my 2 digital... Works as designed and is well constructed. The large display makes it easy to read. The build makes it possible to hang or stand although it's not very stable on the rack when... Seems to work as advertised.
