I did not need to worry about the dogs jumping all over the car. These worked in my 2007 Saturn Vue. However, if you have a small to medium dog, these may be a little too long. I have a 2010 Toyota Camry and fit perfectly. I used them for my 2 dogs and cat, in conjunction with safety harnesses, to keep them safely restrained. Highly recommend. perfect These are nice for providing peace of mind, but my dogs can unclick them, and they also readjust on there own so my dogs suddenly have twice the freedom I'd like them to have.
