This is the only studfinder I have used, so it may be due to user error, but it was finding studs in unexpected places Very inconsistent. Had to borrow one from coworker. Works as intended. Biggest piece of garbage ever. Instructions say it will beep when it finds the stud but it goddam beeps all the goddam time what a piece of trash. My husband loves it! This product is junk and they wont refund my money Finds edges so you can put nails or screws into the center of the stud. Use the deep setting if drywall is covered or thick. No battery included! They should at least let people know i was reading the details but i did not see anything about the battery included or not, And its a freaking 9v battery its... Sometimes it's accurate and sometimes it's not. We tested it on where we knew for a fact a stud was placed and sometimes it could and couldn't see it.
