The 3 litter bladder carries more water than a 2 litter bladder, which is why I bought it for longer hikes. It is also much easier to wash and dry it. It doesn't have that plastic taste (I rinsed it out first). The water flows out of it well. It's great! I bought this for my daughter who is going to the rainforest in Mexico. I think this will be great for the trip. This bladder is good overall, but the tube got a kink in it somehow (maybe it came that way.) The tube isn't soft rubber.
