There were supposed to be between 10 to 15 larvas alive but when I opened the box probably 3h after it had arrived we... Only a few larvae made it to the Lady Bug stage. Out of all the larvae only 3 produced. Would not use again! Bought this for school and I think every single larvae hatched!! The kids loved it! The ladybug land is really fun, you should get it too. I had so much fun when I watched the ladybugs grow.
