He sits and pulls them right on! They stay straight and just tight enough! My grandson who has always been frustrated with double knotting or loose shoe laces since learning to tie hisx shoes! I love these. They are simple to adjust, and really do turn your shoes into slip-ons! I hate being laced into shoes. I bought these to try out on my yard work shoes. I frequently come in with dirty shoes and wanted to make them just that bit easier to slip off. Why did no one tell me that something like this existed? I do not like tying my shoes/sneakers. It makes it harder to get them back on in the morning and again to take them off at... When I first got these in, really didn't know what to expect. I just know I was looking for some shoelaces that would be easy for my dad to use. Perfect!! I have special needs twins and one of them absolutely refuses to keep shoes on and tied! These laces allow me to quickly put shoes on, tighten and not worry about double... My nephew is only 5 and although he can tie his shoes, they seem to come untied a million times a day. He is very active so tripping on a shoelace could result in a big injury. Directions are unclear. The "locks " are accompanied bye no directions and the drawing labels nothing. :)
