Compartment is a little bit smaller than I thought but looks like it will be able to hold 1-2 loads of laundry. The compartment is removable (on the 2 compartment version). It was a little smaller than Inexpected THis is a great size and form factor for sorting laundry, but the handles are completely inadequate. They tore loose after a just a few uses. Does what it's suppose to, which isn't much. We haven't had any problems with it tearing or ripping or having any of the wires rip out. The size is perfect for what we needed it. Great mesh pop-up carrier. Folds down small for travel. Good for dirty clothes.etc. love the flat folding of this Love it! These hampers lasted 2 months before major breakdowns. Straps have broken off and there are holes in the fabric around the wire reinforcements. Its a good size but the mesh is not very strong. It has begun to rip near the handles after a few months of use. I expected it to last longer
