It pushes around more than it picks up, so sweeping is still a must, especially with cat litter. It doesn't work, I turned it on for a minute once I opened the package, it had a big noise came from the vaccum and with smell like something was burning so I turned it off. The hardwood cleaner works well and is simple to use. I really love the fact that I can sweep, mop and dry my floors with one machine. I am very impressed with the cleaning abilities of the Floormate. I have SO MUCH FLOOR!!! I was totally skeptical and the machine has been here for more than a week. Finally, I vacuumed with it.... We returned this, the vacuum isn't nearly as comparable to a a normal vacuum, the steamer doesn't produce as much steam as I hoped, and the whole machine is somewhat difficult to... We have 3 chihuahuas and all tile floors. This item is essential to my daily floor cleaning. Well made and durable after years of daily use...older dogs, more accidents. At first I liked this machine because it sucks dirty water off the floor, but that is pretty much the only good thing. My review is for the tile/grout floor cleaning experience and based on that, I am completely disappointed with this product.
